Those tax caps, along with a significant decline in property values in Wayne Township, created millions of dollars in lost revenue for the district. Tackitt helped guide the district through increasing financial challenges in the wake of state-imposed property tax caps in 2010. He ultimately became responsible not only for overseeing MSD Wayne’s finances, but for its operations, transportation, and child nutrition departments as well.
