![]() ![]() It has always been this way in Diablo all the way back to Diablo 2. The ladder and the leaderboard are for the best of the best. What am I saying is that they'e asking to be catered to. I don't lack understanding on how other people derive enjoyment in video games. It gives progression that can actually be compared to others, rather than progression that can only be compared against the top 1k. There's very little reason for Blizzard to NOT include stats further down, even a % range like I said. Knowing I did something X seconds faster, or got 3 rift tiers higher, doesn't mean anything if you ARE that far down the league. But by what metric do I measure how I am doing if I don't know what rank I am, or how much I am increasing it, or if it's decreasing over time?Įven knowing a sort of % range (eg, maybe I'm stuck in the top 30%, and then after one productive day I find I'm in the top 20%) gives a more meaningful progression. You're right, knowing who is around me or what their times are do not matter, nobody not in the top 1k can be considered "competitive". Unless I was in the top 1% (not gonna happen), I have no metric by which to compare myself to people nearby on the ladder. Let's say a million people decide to play the ladder season. ![]() So instead of caring about the top minute percent that I know I'm not one of, I can care about where I am at the time.
